Central Valley Music Therapy provides individual and group music therapy sessions, using music interventions to address "non-music goals" for all ages! Our mission is to provide quality services that focus on solely on the needs of the client to help them reach their fullest potential.
"Music Therapy is an established health profession in which music is used within a therapeutic relationship to address physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of individuals. After assessing the strengths and needs of each client, the qualified music therapist provides the indicated treatment including creating, singing, moving to, and/or listening to music" (AMTA, 2021).

Music Therapy sessions are also held virtually using a HIPPA compliant platform. Clients from outside the service area can also be provided music therapy!
Trysha Lucero is a board certified music and the owner and founder of Central Valley Music Therapy. She has been practicing music therapy in the Central Valley since 2010. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Family and Children, and further received her Master of Arts degree in Music Therapy at New York University. Her experience includes working in medical settings with pediatrics, in-patient and outpatient psychiatry, hospice, physical rehabilitation, and mental health. She has also received specialized training in Neurologic Music Therapy, using research and evidenced-based interventions that use music elements to improve and/or reroute neurological pathways to achieve higher function. She also received her Level 1 Training in Guided Imagery in Music (GIM) using the "Bonny Method," that includes specific relaxation interventions using music and imagery.
Trysha is a wife and mama of two young kiddos and in her free time loves to travel, especially exploring new beaches, and being with family. She is an animal lover, with her 2 dogs and 1 cat. She also loves playing music with her kids at home and supporting their creativity, passions, and interests.
Sigal is a board-certified music therapist who has a specialized training in sound healing. She is currently providing virtual music therapy services for our clients. She received her Bachelor of Music Therapy degree from Loyola University New Orleans in 2018. She completed her music therapy internship at Shalom Park: Nursing Home & Elder Community in Colorado where she gained experience exploring effective music therapy techniques working with elders. Additionally, Sigal completed a nursing home culture change training with the Eden Alternative and became a certified Eden Associate during her internship. She went on to practice music therapy and recreational therapy serving elders with memory loss. After moving back to Central California, Sigal provided in-home hospice music therapy utilizing sound healing instruments in addition to voice and guitar. She also has years of experience caring for newborns to toddlers and has a passion for working with children of all ages. She began focusing her attention on serving children with intellectual and developmental disabilities after the pandemic. Sigal enjoys researching the latest findings on literacy and sensory-focused music therapy interventions and incorporating sound healing techniques into the therapeutic experience.
Sigal is a wife and dog-mom of one. She and her husband look forward to starting a family and homestead of their own in the near future. Sigal loves living in the mountains, connecting with nature and spending quality time with family. She also loves wild flowers, dancing to live music and playing music with friends.

A Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) will create an assessment during the first 1-2 sessions, evaluating further areas of need. Consulting with caregiver(s) and other therapists might be requested to complement other interventions that are already being used. Goals and objectives are then created and data is tracked to reflect progress made during sessions. Documentation is created and made available at the client and/or caregivers' request.
